Cabinet ministers, top civil, police, Army, CAPF officers and jawans laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains of ASI Abdul Rashid Shah at DPL Srinagar.
Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports Shri Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Horticulture Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari and MLC Shri Yasir Reshi paid homage to the departed soul.
Besides, Chief Secretary Shri B.B Vyas, Principal Secretary Home Shri R.K. Goyal, DGP J&K Dr S.P Vaid, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Rohit Kansal, Spl. DG PHQ Shri V.K. Singh, Commandant General Home Guards/Civil Defence/State Disaster Response Force Shri Dilbag Singh, Director Vigilance J&K Shri SJM Gillani, IGP CID Shri A.G. Mir, IGP Kashmir Shri Munir Ahmad Khan, Div Com Kashmir Shri Baseer Ahmad Khan, IG Personnel PHQ Shri J.P Singh, DIG CKR Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat, officers of Army, CAPF, a number of SSPs, Commandants of armed/IR, DySPs and Jawans also presented floral tributes.
As has been reported earlier, Police officer ASI Abdul Rashid Shah who was a native of Panzath, Qazigund was fired upon by militant at Mehandi Kadal in the police jurisdiction of Anantnag while he was performing his professional duties by regulating traffic on road. He was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Subsequently, he was referred to Army’s 92 Base Hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar for further treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
He is survived by wife, three sons and two daughters including 3-year old boy and a 5-year old girl.
